PVR Mall Ludhiana

Finally Ludhiana city has its PVR where people can easily watch and enjoy latest movies. Ludhiana got its first

PVR in Flamez mall, Malhar road, Ludhiana. PVR is situated on the fourth floor of the Flamez mall. Below are some of the good and bad points about the Flamez PVR.

Hearing since long about PVR from friends and relatives living in Delhi & other metros, finally the dream has changed into a 70mm reality for Ludhianavis too. The choices range from 80s romantic movies to latest Bollywood movies to documentaries to Hollywood movies. Now onwards, where we watch movies may well be a status symbol.

STANDING IN the looooo…ng queues under the scorching sun is the scene one hour before movie in numerous theatres of the town.

The choices range from 80s romantic movies to latest Bollywood movies to documentaries to Hollywood movies.

Movies are inseparable part of every Indian. India being the largest producer of films has maintained the higher levels of art, innovation and seriousness with a new genre of movies. With the multiplexes coming up in metros and as well as small towns, the audience has been increasing rapidly because these multiplexes provide wide range of movies for people of all ages and stages of life.

The PVR mantra is very old, but it has entered Ludhiana this year through THE FLAMEZ MALL at Malhar road. The MD of Flamez, Mr Pawan Garg, Director of Dynamic Continental Pvt. Ltd. says, “Our projects are located at prime locations and besides other things we will provide a welcoming ambience, great picture quality and comfortable seats to customers.” PVR, is India's largest cinema chain which started as a dream in year 1997 and within a decade, it has turned into the largest multiplex cinema in India. The first multiplex opened in Bangalore and has 11 screens. “PVR provides showcasing of movies under one roof with vibrant cinema interiors and offers world class service standards with computerized ticketing, mobile ticketing and online ticketing facilities. They are the first one to open the “Gold Class cinema” and Lounge in India,” informs Tejinder Singh, the Marketing Manager at PVR.

The Multiplex in Ludhiana has four screens with a capacity of 1100 and also provides the most scrumptious popcorns and beverages. Deepak Batra, who works in HDFC, has come twice watching the same movie due to the craze of PVR. It is situated in the centre of city with an easy access for people. There is a show in a PVR after every hour. The tickets are priced from Rs 80 to 140. Now one can watch any movie according to his own timings unlike earlier, when the theatres in Ludhiana had four shows and people had to manage their times accordingly. These malls are heaven for daters as well, as they find multiplexes a safe place where they can spend quality time. Earlier the dating couples had to face embarrassment while asking for a corner seat, but this is a thing of the past with these multiplexes, as ticket assistants themselves offer the choice of seat to the cine-goers. Deepa, a lecturer having small children is very happy with the coming of PVR because earlier she found going to theatres problematic but now it has become very easy and comfortable for her with the ease of buying tickets and the spacious interiors.

FLAMEZ, has a very good security and three fire exits for emergencies. Within a few months, the hyper market is opening with all reliance shops in it. It has outlets of various famous brands like Leecooper, Monte Carlo, Canon, Koutons, Hues, Pepe, Addidas and also The Archies gallery in it. So, the mall is a dhamaal for Ludhianvis. There is no need to move to different places now because with these malls one can do bindaas shopping at one place only. Silky, a student of KCW says it is worth watching movie in a PVR and the price of the ticket is also justified. Others like Tarun who works in a financial company believe that PVR has a long way to go as far as price acceptability is concerned.

Another new cinematic experience for Ludhianavis is liquor baron Ponty Chadha's Waves Multiplex at the Westend Mall in Rajguru Nagar. The CEO of AV Motion, Mr. Rajiv Gupta. fondly discusses Waves having four screens cineplex with 1042 seats providing with finest facilities. Dheeraj Sharma, the GM elaborates, “The projection systems are from Kinoton (Germany), audio system by Martin Audio London with wide high gain screens from Harkness hall and stadium. Ergonomically designed with luxurious seats which are 11 % wider and have 20% more legroom over present industry standards and carpets from Brinton, UK which are fire-redundant. The Platinum Lounge offering personalized attention and 168 degree reclining facility with a double curve lumber support and equally comfortable headrest and footrest is the USP of Wave Cinemas”. Audi 1 and 4 also have Platinum Lounge with 14 seats each and the ticket is priced at Rs.500.

In the Platinum lounge the three course meal is served to the guests and presently catering is from a leading hotel of the town.

Mohit who studies in Aurobindo College of commerce says,” Seeing the mall for the first time, he was awestruck with it's grandeur and watching movies here is a status symbol also”. All the major brands are in this mall. The three floors of mall are distributed to men, women and kids wear with a Spa, health club and entertainment centre for children.
There are still others like Aira Khan who want to be in the middle of all that's happening. This officer in a MNC says, “ Well, PVR has already brought in the culture of movie premieres to this industrial city with 'Mitti Waajan Mardi', now I am just planning to go to the Platinum Lounge at Wave to see what it feels to be pampered with good food and hospitality while lazing on the reclining chair, watching Imran Hashmi do what he is best at (her favorite hero acting, she meant)!
